South Shore Realtors®
Local Call for Action

Thank you to everyone who contacted the Senate Leadership by 7/21/22 to ask for their support to co-sponsor and support Amendment 63 – “Economic Impact” to the Economic Development bill, S. 3018 that will SAVE OUR BAY. Our work is not done. Please attend a Rally on Monday, July 25th from 5:00-6:15pm on the Plymouth Town Hall Green and attend the Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel (NDCAP) Meeting at 6:30pm to have your voice heard. It will take the support of many to stop Holtec International from dumping radioactive waste into Cape Cod Bay.
----------------------------------------------
April 2022. South Shore Realtors® wants to enlist your support of bill H.4444, an emergency legislative action to ban Holtec International’s plan to dump one million gallons of radioactive waste into Cape Cod Bay.
This bill would, in part, prohibit the discharge of any radioactive materials into coastal or inland waterways in our State. It is our understanding that such a discharge may be imminent as a part of the decommissioning of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station by Holtec International, with potentially irreversible effects on our area. Given the time-sensitivity of this matter, we ask that you ACT NOW to move this legislation favorably out of committee on or before April 15, 2022.
As REALTORS®, we are dedicated to the health and well being of the communities we serve. It almost goes without saying that contaminating Cape Cod Bay with nuclear waste will unquestionably have a negative impact on coastal communities, and on our businesses. Public health, the economy and the overall quality of life on the South Shore as a good place to live and work is threatened. Some Realtors®’ businesses have already been disturbed by the perception alone.
As REALTORS®, we take pride in the communities we serve and endeavor to do more and better business each day. We stand firm in our message to Holtec, to local government entities, the administration and the legislature that contaminating the environment is harmful to public health, and that we vehemently resist any threat to healthy, prosperous communities in the Commonwealth.
As REALTORS®, we urge your favorable response to this Call for Action!
Thank you for your support!
